The Fragrant, Aromatic and Medicinal Plants sector includes a a wide variety of cultivated and wild species which supply the perfume, food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
🌱 𝗟𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘇-𝘃𝗼𝘂𝘀?
20% of RTE in France are produced within the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. One of France's leading wine-producing regions, based at the gateway to Provence.
🚜 The harvest season kicks off with thyme, this southern plant from the Lamiaceae family, appreciated as much for its gustatory qualities as for its phytotherapeutic virtues.
💧 In fact, its aromatic essential oil is appreciated from a culinary point of view for flavouring dishes, but also for clearing the respiratory tract and soothing coughs. Thyme is also frequently used to aid digestion and combat intestinal problems.
Used in particular for the Agriculture thyme essential oil, Thymus vulgarishas a number of benefits for ruminants, pigs and poultry:
The most commonly used parts of thyme are its leaves and flowering tops. Thyme is traditionally used for its properties antiseptics, antispasmodics and antiparasitics. Some use it for its antibacterial properties, particularly on E. Coli, by reducing the bacterium's rate of multiplication and lowering its enzymatic activity.
Thyme is also very useful for regulating the intestinal/ruminal flora and promote the animal's overall well-being.
Thyme is renowned for its action on the entire ENT sphere due to its anti-infectious, antibacterial and antifungal effects.
Thyme is also an excellent decongestant. It has a general tonic effect on the body.
Thyme essential oil is also highly prized in Flavors & Foodfor its aromatic notes, which are much appreciated in cooking. Thanks to its scent, which is very close to that of the fresh plant, thyme essential oil blends well with culinary preparations and adds its own special flavour. a touch of Provence.
With vegetables, stewed meats, roast poultry, fish or even summer fruit, thyme goes with everything.
