What if the new prodigious oil was water?

herbarom-1 prodigious water

Oils, balms, waters... Cosmetics love these terms, which can refer to the simplicity of a natural product or to highly sophisticated formulas. While prodigious, divine, marvellous and sublime oils have conquered the market in recent years, the world of beauty could well be turning to water!

Water is essential to the skin's homeostasis. It often makes up more than 70% of skincare formulas. Yet for a long time, skincare waters remained discreet or confined to cleansing and purifying. Today, a number of trends seem to be revisiting the role of water in product creation.

Formulation trends first and foremost. Often inspired by Asia, the new textures have to be ever lighter and ultra-fluid. It's up to formulators to preserve the softness and comfort that consumers are used to. Then there are socio-cultural trends. With over 60% of consumers claiming to have sensitive skin, the need for purity and transparency is becoming unquenchable. This is reflected in increasingly minimalist formulas in which water remains the pivotal element. At the crossroads of these movements, water has become the most obvious solution. But obviously not just any water!

From this point of view, floral waters offer a very attractive universe. Obtained by distillation of dried plants, they are responsible for the passage through plant matter in the same way that mineral water is responsible for the passage through rock. At Herbarom, these flowers are grown by independent producers in terroirs offering the best qualities of purity: whether in the organic soils of the Drôme or those of the Moroccan Atlas, they blossom in their natural biorhythm and are picked at the height of their aromatic potential.

Combining the purity of water with the freshness of plants and the delicacy of flowers, floral waters are the ideal response to new beauty expectations.
